June 2024 Unboxing | Needle Felting Subscription Boxes | The Makerss
Happy Birthday to us! June marks our 9th Anniversary and we are celebrating throughout the month. It is for that reason that the Wyvern (Dragon) project in The Makerss Subscription box is of an orangey copper colour as a 9 year anniversary is symbolised by copper. Totally off the track however is The Makerss Flock box this month which is bringing aspects of Christmas into June! Well, it's definitely another reason to celebrate. The Flock box technical challenge is all about wire and wool and teaching you how to wrap wool correctly around wire. A really useful skill and by the end of it you will be masters at wool wrapping!

      @dodosmamma1692 2 месяца назад

      I think Steffi shows a way of making hair curls in the ivy fairy tutorial. I make my own ‘locks’ by winding some wool around a toothpick or bamboo skewer then I dip them into a bowl of water and then nuke them in the microwave for a minute. Leave to air dry or you can dry them on a radiator. Slide them off of the stick and you should have lovely spirally curls. 💕

    So, do you then go on to dissolve the paper in water? I used a used dryer sheet (Bounce dryer sheet) to make thein bird wings. It doesn't dissolve but I found I was able to make a thin wing that was stable enough to stand up on it's own. I felted the wings on a open winged bird. Another perk of using the dryer sheet was it smelled nice too. 🙂

    I'm looking forward to my flock box this month, although probably won't be making donuts :) I was so pleased to watch on your FB channel how many of your 'Makerss' family gathered to support you and offer to make samples from your kits. Being a total newbie, my skill level simply isn't good enough, otherwise I'd have joined them. Your mindset on the whole experience is a good one... don't focus on that terrible moment, but on the goodness of the many who support you and all those around you.
